Studio 2: 78 Peverly Hill Road

Glass jewelry, beads & sculpture

Dyanna is a glass artist and silversmith living in Portsmouth, NH. She works with kiln and torch techniques to create a style that is a mix of retro and romantic, preferring simplicity of design with color carrying the focus. She shares her time between art and the environment.

As a scientist I often find myself distracted by the designs around me: the curve of a spotted salamander, the brown and teal iridescence of a beetle’s shell. I use that now in my art.

Milkweed Cottage Studio is named in honor of her endless childhood quest for milkweed – the exclusive host of the monarch butterfly caterpillar. She is finishing up her PhD in Environmental Studies, and recently introduced Milkweed Green, an eco-friendly line of glass jewelry using repurposed bottle glass.
